With the warpgrinder you don't have to only come up with the warpgrinder ability, you can still just come up through a gnawhole so you'll never be stuck under ground 😊

With change to Doom-flayer movement, I'll lean more into Night Runners for achieving battle tactics. I want to take a Deceiver anyway.

To me the book feels like a miss. I guess thats the problem of being the first with a battletome. There's only so much data to steer the army in the right direction. I get the nerf on the Jezzails since no unit should be an auto include, but to leave some warscrolls as is, when they're clearly underwhelming is a shame(looking at you Hell Pit Abomination and Stormvermin). I would like to see some points reductions since right now the army feels underpowered against many of the other factions when looking at points for power. For example, compare Gluttons with Rat Ogors.... still love my rats and I'll have a great time painting up those lovely new models.

Roster options - does that just mean you can't include them in the initial build, but still get to place them at the start of each battle round?

you bring your warp-grinder to kill enemy terrain that they leave behind. it's not an enemy unit, so it can come up in combat range and straight up murder their scenery.

I'd run the Brood Terror with 6 melee stormfiends. Then you're unloading two warpfire throwers and his scourger on an infantry unit that you then charge.

I'm disappointed that Stormvermin didn't get an actual Pistol Weapon on their Warscroll. The new kit comes with one for the unit champion, and they show it off on the COVER ART of the book. It seems really incongruent to me at least.

The warp grinder will be amazing with a reinforced stormfiend with flamethrowers and grinderfists, the ability of the warpgrinder can be used only on the unit associated, but doesn't interfere with other way to emerge from the tunnels. Having a unit that can do a lot of melee damage and shoot in combat that can emerge in three different ways is amazing!

Matt probably wont see this, but just a note you can't Scurry away and then Fight. You can only use one core ability per phase so you cant Retreat into Fight.

just an thought, when you set up ANY unit in reserves you place them "In the tunnels below. so if you put a unit in the tunnels below with the warp grinders they could still be brought in using the gnawholes as well because all of the units in reserves are placed "In the tunnels below" so even if you can't get an enemy unit out of 6" from another enemy unit you can still deploy the unit you set up with the warp grinder out of a gnawhole instead. more options.

Jezzails ability is literally pointless. Stay still have a threat range of 24" (18+6) or move 6" and shoot 18" for a threat range of 24"......WTF

oh man, you guys would hate my list, its blood nights and dogs (and neffy and vhordrai). i will try something else for sure, like black knights, but it worked fine for me. im also really unsure which non unique hero i should use as none of them or the artifacts or traits really synergize with my list at all. maybe swapping out vhordrai for a gerenic vlozd but i kind of only did the list to get vhordrais buffs on the blood knights

soulblight was and always will be my fav armie. i had a really early game where i litteraly did not kill a single unit of my friend but i still won just because i kept his stuff away from objectives, tied up his hammers in useless combats and just won like that. never did that before and made me understand the game alot more, since before i thought its all about damage when it really isnt

I kept seeing "Maximum unit size" in the warscrolls without it actually stating the maximum - I'm guessing that means it's up to the number of reinforcements you're allowed depending on game rule you're applying, but double reinforcement (triple the unit's size) sounds like the average maximum for Battleline and single reinforcement (double its size) for Other unless there's a rule that makes an exception made by the army trait or the general's personal rules. And since Unit Size is in regards to the minimum number of models to make up that unit, that means a reinforcement to that unit is made for every additional model up to that minimum, right? If a unit has a minimum size of 10 models, every additional single model will count towards it being reinforced until that unit is fully double its minimum size (a unit of 15 models with a minimum size of 10 will be treated as reinforced once despite not having 20 models) - am I right about that? I'm not fully clued in on the rules, I'm more a collector than a player, but I still find the game interesting, especially if I can look at a unit and wonder just how big I can get away with making it - odds are 4th Edition will have changed things again, so this video will be outdated nowadays, but it's still useful in some form.

I'm not a fan of only one strategy really working for ogors right now. Shooting and monster trucks are dead all you really have is glutton spam and butchers for run and charge. Dont get me wrong its good but the index feels one note. Hopefully the points update can help. Love the video, great as always!

How in the mortal realms is Legion of Shyish not conditional? You need: - 4 deadwalker or deathrattle units - that are all damaged/missing models - all wholly within 12" of the same hero - during any hero phase I don't have much experience on the tabletop, but that seems more conditional than having a deadwalker unit in combat and rolling a 2+ on a D3. It honestly seems niche.

Great video and very helpful. I like the list choices in the back. He also opened my eyes to the power of skeletons I was kind of sleeping on them since they don't do much damage but recursion is great and can pop out of the grave to threaten the backfield.

Bit of a mistake here, you cannot double redeploy into combat with the Coven Throne, you can only react once per phase, so you can only use Mannfred's ability once during the opponents turn. Also I hope Ben didn't put on Neferata's spell on the VLOZD during the tournament, it specifically states non-monster unit.

For the battltome: anything but a foot hero! New grave guard models, a blood knight hero, an elite infantry vampire unit. Better sub factions and enhancement options! (Also big thumbs up for a bone giant!)

I’m surprised they didn’t talk about the Vampire Lord. Lots of offensive utility, especially in BoB. Teleport to the opponents back line and charge their wizard for +1 w or keep him out of combat and summon a manifestation on the opponents turn then counter charge anything that tries to get him. Give him some back by summoning some skeles or grave guard to bog the enemy down (if you can get them there with terrain deployment) and you have a massive disruption piece for 160pts

Question for Unhinged Rampager + Counter Charge. Counter charge say use the charge ability as if it WERE your charge phase, so would it work?

Bacchanal of blood with Cado Ezechiar gives you a pretty easy source of +2 to cast, if you really NEED to get a Krondspine (8+) or Prison of Grief off on a magical intervention, he's clutch! You can barf out hard to cast spells every round if he finds a place of power.
